Our College

'Mutha Shaikshanik Trust’ was established in the year 2000, to not only commemorate the memory of Seth Hirachand Mutha & Seth Praful Patel but also to give concrete shape to his talent given to him in abundance. Many like minded people joined hands in this noble cause and most prominent of them being late Shri. Praful Patel’s family and thus came in existence in August 2002, “Seth Hirachand Mutha College of Arts, Commerce and Science” (On permanently non – aided basis). The trust though is not resting on its laurels and is expanding its activities in terms of its breadth and scale with a clean cut objective of imparting affordable quality education in time with the changing demands of the times. So we have the plan to provide one stop destination for KG. To PG. education.Our trust comes under minority status since from 2007-2008. Equivalent facilities will be provided under said title.Subsequent to the start of senior college in 2002. (Affiliated to Mumbai University), junior college was started in June 2003 and is co-educational. For the record, we started with 72 students in 2002 and present strength is upwards of a thousand.The college shifted to its own campus located at Kolivali (Umbarde, within KDMC) in June 2005, and comprises of well airy spacious class rooms, laboratories, conference and convention halls, library, canteen etc. Excellent facilities for students for Computer Science and I.T. Courses have since been provided. Play grounds and other infrastructure to cater to the needs of extra and co-curricular activities for students are in place. Sylvan surroundings with greenery all around and easy accessibility by road make the campus an ideal location. Since June 2006, another step forward was taken by way of starting ‘Seth Praful Patel Public English School’ (affiliated to CBSE ) where in facilities like books, stationary, uniform, breakfast etc along with school bus are provided by the school.We believe in quality education and overall development of the students. Considering this our well-qualified and efficient staff lays emphasis on extra & co-curricular activities along with academic studies. There are miles to go and there are many more plans for the future by introducing new subjects, starting new courses such as law engineering, Management, D.Ed., B.Ed. and new vocational courses. However, besides our efforts this will need your co-operation and encouragement.
